S tuden ts vo ted in ru n -o f f elections for three Student Sen ate seats yesterday, but only two of the elections yielded offi cial results. Keenan Hall sophomore Tim Callahan u no ffic ia lly won the D istrict 3 (North Quad) run-off, w h ile Grace H a ll fresh m an D avid B aker took D is tr ic t 4 (Mod Quad). Grace Hall ju n io r Keith McKeon and Fisher Hall jun io r Tom Pistick were elected Off-campus co-presidents. The results o f the D is tric t 3 run-o ff are being challenged by Callahan’s opponent, Stanford Hall sophomore A1 Nicgorski. Nicgorski has accused Calla han of violating campaign regu lations, according to Elections C om m issioner T rav is Reindl. Reindl said the jud ic ia l board’s ethics committee would hold a hearing on the allegations this evening. He also said he asked the candidates not to discuss the sp e c ific n a tu re o f N icgorski’s allegations until after the hearing is concluded. A s im ila r hearing was held yesterday afternoon concerning Dave Certo’s challenge o f Tyler Farm er’s victory in the D istrict 1 (South Quad) senate race. A spokesperson fo r the e th ics committee said its findings in the Certo/Farmer case would be released today. Callahan received 478 votes (54.9 percen t o f the vote) in yesterday’s balloting, compared to N icgorsk i’s 392 votes (45.1 percent). In the D is tr ic t 4 ru n -o ff . Baker defeated P lanner H all ju n io r Jacob F rost 478 (59.2 percent) to 330 (40.8 percent). Baker said a last-m inute cam paign sw ing th rough his d is tr ic t ’s female dorms helped to bring about his large margin of victory. The senator-e lect ind icated that he wanted to organize spe cial Mod Quad activ ities in an attempt to counter the tendency of students to “migrate to North Q uad.” He also expressed a desire to receive suggestions from his constituents. “ I ’d be more than w illin g to see ELECTIONS / page 4 North Quad
